5 Big Goals I’m working on to Achieve! — INSANELY AMBITIOUS!!

For those of you who have followed my journey for a while, you’d know I originally had ‘6’ big goals. Actually, strictly speaking I started with 7, but that’s another story! Number 6 (writing a book) has been removed from the list! Did I achieve it? Before we get to that, let’s go over my current 5 big goals I’m working on to achieve!

1. Improve my fitness (Rocky style montage)

At the moment I exercise every other day. My goal is to get to the point where I feel content and happy with my routine. How do I measure that? For starters, I want to be able to do the routine relatively pain free. Healthy movements which are sustainable. The routine must be basic and not too reliant on equipment. This is so I can carry on exercising in different environments with limited space and equipment.

I’ve always been a big fan of the Rocky movies. I remember watching ‘ROCKY 1’ for the first time. I’d go so far to say that it was a life changing moment. I remember standing up towards the end of the fight, I didn’t know what the outcome was going to be. I identified as Rocky. Now this isn’t a sexual orientation preference, I just related to him as a character. I felt like him. An underdog. Somebody who has something great to offer the world but never given a shot and underestimated by everybody. That was me. The spirit of Rocky has never left me since.

One of the things I love about the series are the training montages. Nothing else compares. When I exercise and see myself improving I always imagine my own Rocky style montage. That’s something I want to produce one day. My own training montage! I’ll only make that when I feel I’ve reached a level I’m happy with and have reached a sustainable workout routine. I envisage myself raising my arm at the end in a true Rocky Balboa style.

Leading up to this montage I am documenting my exercise progression in the hope to inspire others along the way. Also, I want to keep a healthy weight!

2. Host my own TV Show (Late Night, Comedy, Travel)

For me personally, the greatest thing I could professionally achieve would to be a host of my own TV show. The absolute pinnacle would to be an American Late Night host. The other shows I’d love to host and have as my own would be a reality comedy series where I set myself ambitious tasks and I document my process of achieving them. I’d also love to have a travel show. Not your traditional style though, a travel show where it wasn’t about the place, it was more about making people laugh. An observational comedy travel show. Me being an idiot basically.

The reason Late Night is the ultimate is not only the ‘status’ but the fact that a show like that could incorporate the travel element and the comedy segments into one big show!

I am currently developing my interviewing skills by interviewing other YouTube creators who are trying to grow their channels. So far the series is going well! It’s been great fun chatting with like minded people, and I’ve also made some friends!

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how exactly am I going to get a TV show? Sure these things are easy to say, but I only like to say them when I’ve properly thought them through and planned them out in-depth. Here’s my theory:

I’m going to grow my YouTube channel. My first aim is to hit 100,000 subscribers. It’s all about generating leverage. By that point my original series should be gaining traction and have an audience. This is the first part. To prove myself and the model. If I can get my comedy and travel series to work on YouTube then TV will start to be interested. I’d then try and get a TV agent.

The way you get a show (without being offered one) is like this:

Get a TV agent (must have proved yourself)

the TV agent will take your TV show idea to production companies. Production companies will only be interested if they can see the show has potential (as proved via online audience). The other big factor which should help me is that my show ideas are relatively low budget, even the travel ones!

The production company will then pitch your idea to the network. A network (or channel) will not be interested in any idea unless a reputable production company is on board and willing to produce the show.

That’s the plan. If it doesn’t work, I’ll get a TV agent and then get jobs within the industry and work my way up like that. Presenting and featuring on other people’s shows etc. Either way, that’s where I’m headed.

3. Find Love

This is something I’m deeply passionate about. I’ve wanted to be in love and find love since I was about 12 years old. The ‘Italian’ stipulation has been dropped. I still love Italians and would of course date an Italian woman, but my need for that has diminished. This is something I’ll go into more depth another time.

At the moment of writing this article / blog post, I am in conversation with a girl who means a lot to me. I truly believe she’s the one for me. Time will tell. The world will make perfect sense if she’s the one. I’ve got a feeling she’s my soulmate. I cannot wait to finally see her…

If I can’t find love with her…

4. Reach 100,000 YouTube subscribers (100k) [Sustainability]

I’m never usually a fan of a goal being a number. This is an exception. I want to reach 100,000 Subscribers on YouTube and earn the silver play button award. I picture myself unboxing it, holding it up and looking at it and seeing my reflection in it. That will be an incredible moment.

I want to reach and impact as many people as possible, therefore I need people to begin with! That’s why a big number goal is important in this case. I also need to generate sustainability. YouTube isn’t about money for me, but when you can generate money you therefore can continue to produce content and also improve it! The only way to scale is to generate sustainability, so money is a natural part of it, but only to sustain and promote my message! Being paid for your passion is one of the greatest goals you can have. I want to reach as many people as possible and add value to their lives, whether that’s through laugher or inspiration, or both.

5. Improve my comedy and reach my potential

This is a strange goal, because I believe that once I achieve the other ones on this list, naturally this goal will have been achieved. I want to feel that I’ve become who I was always meant to be and who I always wanted to be. More specifically, feel happy with my camera presence, my comedy and wit. Also my confidence! It’s just practice and mindset and I’m getting better every day!

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you at the top my friends!
